Back to School Shopping Spree
On Saturday, July 27, 2024, The Salvation Army will partner with the JCPenney Spectrum to host Back To School Child Spree, our annual, back-to-school shopping program for disadvantaged children in Tucson. This year’s event will host 150 less-fortunate youth, ranging in age from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Each child will receive a $150 gift card for new clothing and shoes as well as a new backpack filled with essential school supplies!
We're currently seeking fun and energetic volunteers(18+) who are willing to donate their time to accompany students as they shop and help them make wise buying decisions. For only a few hours of your time, you can build a positive experience for a child that will last a lifetime!
To be a part of this meaningful project, all volunteers (18+)
MUST first complete the mandatory event forms to secure their volunteer spot.
There is no greater sight than to see the joy on a child’s face as they shop for a much-needed pair of shoes, pants, or dress. New clothing + school supplies = game changer! This rewarding event builds the self-confidence children need to help get their school year started off right. You don't want to miss this memorable event!
