Each year, The Salvation Army Tucson's Adopt-A-Family Program helps families who are in crisis enjoy special holidays.  This historic program give families, groups, churches and organizations an opportunity to engage in a "hands on" experience of direct service, providing assistance to a select family of their choosing.

 

One of the oldest and largest Christmas adoption programs in Pima County, Adopt-A-Family receives over 400 applications for assistance each Christmas. Two-thirds of these applications are now being provided through school referrals.  Many of the families applying for assistance are facing financial hardships and are unable to afford a Christmas dinner or new toys and warm clothing for their children.
